Reading - Students have completed our initial building assessments in reading; iReady and Acadience. Teachers are using this data to place students in the appropriate reading groups during our “walk to reading” 40-minute extension block. Our reading specialist, Jennifer Crosby, and her team worked hard to achieve our goal of getting reading groups started by the third week of school.
Kids @ Hope Culture - We are establishing our “Culture of Hope” at North Fork Elementary. The Kids at Hope’s program and vision is that every child is afforded the belief, guidance, and encouragement that creates a sense of hope and optimism, supported by a course of action needed to experience success at life’s four major destinations: Home & Family; Education & Career; Community & Service; and Hobbies & Recreation.
Reconfiguration - It has been a great start to the school year as we adjust to having the younger grades at North Fork Elementary. Our older grades have shown leadership and partnered up with kindergarten classes to assist them in acclimating to the building and getting to the bus at the end of the day. Everyone seems to have adjusted to our earlier start time
