In reviewing Board Policy prior to the development of the performance goals, Policy 2004 was found to be significantly out of date. WSSDA has not updated this policy template for several years. This recommended policy update has been significantly modified to eliminate outdated references to No Child Left Behind, the 2001 law that was replaced in 2017 by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The policy has been simplified to simply reference the statutes and rules that govern the requirements for performance goals and annual reports. This will ensure that baring recodification of state statute or code, the policy will remain compliant with rules into the future.
