MId Year Teacher Check-in Meetings
The past few weeks every teacher has checked in with their student’s mid-year growth and also any student of concerns. Teachers also reflected on their own growth at this point in the year and received feedback from the principal on the Danielson Framework used for evaluations. Our teachers are passionate about their instruction and students’ growth.
Reading Growth in Tier 3 Interventions
We had 46 students that moved up to a new group level in our Tier 3 intervention block. Our Boost program and classroom teachers have been monitoring students’ growth closely and differentiating to meet students’ needs.
Highly Capable Screenings
WIS is in the process of screening all new and referred students for the Highly Capable program. We have over 90 new students and 24 referrals. The students that screen and test into the program will start next school year.
Art Club & Student Council
Two additional WIS clubs started following winter break. Art Club & Student Council are popular with our students and well attended. Art club is currently working on a mural for the hallway, and student council is training our leaders in giving new students tours and leading by example.
