Janice Watts, Sarah Stuart, Lesa Beuscher, Matt Donald, Steve Madsen, Michael Green-Board Secretary, and Nicole Galloway-Recording Secretary

OTHERS PRESENT

Asha Riley, Ingrid Colvard, Jake Hall, Stacy Brown, Craig Downs, Staci Chilton, Mindy Patee, Hannah Coltrin, Josh Somers, Luke Cook, Malinda Huddleston, and Denise Pearl.

CALL TO ORDER

President Watts called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.

REPORTS TO THE BOARD

Director Stuart asked Principal Colvard some clarifying questions regarding the levels of poverty she mentioned in her report.

Steve Madsen shared his experiences during a recent visit of the high school CTE classes with Asha Riley.   

DISCUSSION ITEMS

Cascadia Technical Academy Presentation

Craig Downs gave a brief presentation on Cascadia Technical Academy and the programs that it offers to all Clark County high schools. He also introduced Luke Cook, a current Woodland student. Luke will be graduating this month and talked about his path. Cascadia Technical Academy is planning a facility revitalization plan and will be seeking state funding in the winter of 2019.

Elementary School Reconfiguration Update

Superintendent Green presented a PowerPoint presentation on the upcoming elementary school reconfiguration. He provided the school board with the parent survey results, teacher survey results, our current elementary capacity information, and current enrollment numbers. Superintendent Green provided eight (8) options for potential school boundaries for the school board to review.

Superintendent Green addressed the board again on the boundary options. He provided detailed demographics for each of the options and recommended option 1B to the school board.
