Attached are policy updates modified from the WSSDA recommendation. These recommendations are discussed in their publication Policy and Legal News.
Policy 2030- Service Animals in Schools — This is an update recommended by WSSDA. The primary purpose of which is to provide additional clarity on what constitutes an allowable "service animal" and protect the district from students claiming they need to bring their turtle to school as a 'comfort animal'.
Policy 3141- Nonresident Students — This update brings the policy into compliance with the rules of ALE that requires students to make progress.
Policy 3143- Notification of Juvenile Offenders — The state has updated and clarified rules regarding notification requirements. This policy update reflects those changes.
Policy 3226- Interviews and Interrogations of students on School Premises —This is a significant update that reflects current case law and statutory requirements.
Policy 4310- District Relationships with Law Enforcement and other Governmental Agencies — This update clarifies rules and includes language relative to ICE.
Policy 6220- Bid or Request for Proposal Requirements — This update reflects changes to the Federal procurement requirements.
