Re: Inter-district agreement for Fire Science Program in the Kelso School District

I am recommending that the school board approve the inter-district agreement with Kelso School District that will allow our students to participate in Kelso's Fire Science Program. Through the Clark County Skills Center, Woodland High School students can access a fire science program located in the Battleground School District, but because of continuing scheduling challenges our students do not access that program. Woodland students loose 3 periods and receive only 2 credits to attend in Battleground. One major benefit to Kelso's program is that our students can take Fire science in the morning for 2 credits and be back in in time to complete their day with four classes starting with third period. Kelso has a very good Fire Science Program with a strong reputation. We have 2 students signed up and excited to start the program. Students are responsible for their own transportation, just as they would be if attending the program in Battleground.

      Thanks
