School Improvement Plan 

We have successfully completed our Fall data collection for both reading and math. We are very happy to report that the initial data for our older students looks incredibly promising, reflecting strong retention and growth.

Our instructional staff have immediately put this data to work. Using these fresh assessments, we have identified students who require additional support, and our targeted academic interventions have officially begun this week. By acting quickly on our Fall data, we are ensuring that every student gets the tailored instruction they need right from the start of the year.

As we reviewed our School Improvement Plan for this year, we recognized that strong family partnerships are foundational to student success. Therefore, we are excited to announce the addition of a dedicated Parent Involvement and Communication goal to our SIP.

Our  staff have brainstormed actionable ways to invite parents into the educational process and improve two-way communication. Our initiatives for this year include:

• Talking Points for Academic Communication: We will be utilizing the Talking Points platform to ensure consistent, accessible, and easily translatable communication between teachers and families regarding academic content.
• Centralized Volunteer Sign-Up: To make volunteering easier and more organized, our office staff will be managing a streamlined volunteer sign-up system. This will remove barriers for parents who want to help out during the school day.
• Monthly Schoolwide Newsletters: We will continue to send a comprehensive, monthly schoolwide newsletter to keep all families informed of important updates, academic focus areas, and school news.
• Expanded PTO Partnership: We are proud to partner closely with our outstanding PTO, who plays a vital role in our school culture. They will continue to run our fun, community-building family activities, including the highly anticipated Trunk or Treat, the Fall Carnival, and the Great Pumpkin Search.

Recognition 

I would like to take a moment to highlight and celebrate the exceptional contributions of two of our paraprofessionals, Gena Wheatley and Sandra Brill. Both of these remarkable educators are strong instructors and willing learners who consistently embody a "whatever needs to be done" attitude to support our students and staff. Beyond their instructional roles during the day, Gena and Sandra also step up to serve as our afterschool custodians, working tirelessly to keep our school building clean and sparkly. Our entire staff is incredibly grateful for their unmatched flexibility, their dedication, and the radiant positivity they bring to our school community every single day. 

Upcoming Events 

Looking ahead, we are excited to share a few upcoming events that will further enrich our students' daily experiences. We are thrilled to welcome Officer Cuneta to Yale once a month to visit and build positive relationships with our students during their lunch and recess periods. Additionally, as highlighted earlier in this report, our students are eagerly looking forward to the fantastic lineup of Fall activities sponsored by our dedicated PTO, which will bring our community together for some wonderful seasonal fun.
