RE: North Fork Elementary School Update

  • Mid Year Teacher Check-in Meetings - Student Growth Goals

Our teachers have been conducting a deep dive into mid-year data for both reading and math. Teachers celebrated their students’ growth. These check-ins provide every teacher with the opportunity to discuss their students' growth, identify trends, and collaboratively problem-solve any learning roadblocks. I am looking forward to sharing our midyear data with you next month.

    • February 14th ReadyMath Professional Development

Due to inclement weather, our instructional team successfully pivoted to a virtual math training session led by our ReadyMath trainer. During this session, teams analyzed their mid-year math diagnostic data and utilized reports to backward plan their upcoming math units. Additionally, educators collaborated in cross-grade level discussions to identify trends and address gaps in grade-level standards. Teachers adapted and engaged in the virtual training.

    • Highly Capable Screenings

Our instructional coach, Malinda Huddleston, has completed all of the highly capable screenings for new and referred students.

    • Kids @ Hope Week

This week, our students engaged in planning for their futures across four key areas: Community and Service, Hobbies and Recreation, Education and Career, and Home & Family. Daily activities were designed to support their aspirations, including:

Family & Pizza Bingo Night: Fostering family engagement through a fun-filled evening.

Career Day: Featuring special guests who shared insights about their professions.

Community Service Projects: Students created heartfelt cards for residents of the Woodland Care Center, promoting empathy and community connection.
