RE: Columbia Elementary Board Report
School Improvement Focus:
CES has recently completed our mid-year academic benchmark assessments.
As a school, we have made meaningful progress in our Acadience results, with a 14% increase, bringing us to 54%. While we're not yet at our SIP goal of 65%, the improvements we’ve seen show that we’re moving in the right direction. The hard work and dedication of our team are paying off, and we’re confident that with continued effort, we will keep closing the gap.
To ensure we meet our goal, CES staff remains committed to working hard and refining our strategies. Last Friday (2/14), our team spent the entire day collaborating through vertical alignments, additional training, and grade-level meetings to plan the next steps. This focused collaboration will continue to guide our efforts as we push forward and stay determined to reach our SIP goal by the end of the year.
Columbia Recognition- Success Story:
Since the start of the school year, CES has made strong progress in DIBELS, with 60% of students now performing at grade level, a 9% increase from the beginning of the school year. This is a great sign, especially since we typically see more growth in the spring. At this trajectory, we are on track to meet our SIP goal of 65%. It’s clear that our hard work and additional efforts are paying off.
Along with overall school-wide growth, 51% of our students exceeded expected progress, meaning that they are making more than expected growth via national norms. This is an 11% increase from last year. Additionally, every grade level K-4 performed better than the national norm, which reflects the effectiveness of our teaching strategies and the dedication of both students and staff. These results continue to showcase our success as a school, and serve as motivation to continue to reach our end of year goals.
