Upcoming Event: Red Cross Blood Drive

On Tuesday, November 8, WHS’s Anatomy and Physiology class will be hosting a blood drive for students to have the ability to donate blood. In order to participate, students must be over the age of 16 and have a parents permission (or over the age of 18 and sign off). Students are also able to count the blood drive as service hours if they decide to participate.

Upcoming Event: Food Drive

From Tuesday, November 8 until Thursday, November 11, WHS FFA, NHS, and Skills USA will be running a food drive for the school. The food drive will be a great opportunity provided for students to help out Woodland Action Center by donating food. Along with the food drive, an incentive for students to donate will be a classroom competition. All 4th-period classes will be put in competition with one another and the class with the most food donated will receive a prize. Students participating in helping the food drive will also be able to count this event as service hours.

TEAM and Running Start ASB Positions

On Friday, November 4, WHS ASB and WHS Senators, will be able to vote on who will fill the Running Start ASB position. Along with this, an email was sent to TEAM teachers to nominate a student to fill the TEAM position. WHS ASB is looking forward to hearing from different perspectives of students in our schools and is very excited to announce the new officers when they have been elected.

Lockdown and School Safety

October 27 was the last school board meeting held by WPS. In this meeting, a survey about student safety was talked about and ideas were discussed by the board about questions that could possibly be present in the survey. The survey is currently in the process of being sent out to students and the results of the survey will be brought to the board at the next meeting, in order to get plentiful information from students.
