ACTION ITEMS

KWRL Bid Award

KWRL has three separate facilities projects that have been engineered.

  1. Expansion of the KWRL Paradise Point Facility. ($591,558,41).

(Attached please find the engineer's recommendation for acceptance of the Colf Construction bid.)

  2. Removal of underground fuel storage tanks and replacement with above-ground fuel storage tanks at the Woodland Facility ($467,613.00) (This job was let for bid by "Sourcewell.  The lowest bidder was Puregreen Equipment Services.  Attached please find the installer proposal )
  3. Expansion of the KWRL Woodland Facility to accommodate additional buses (Bids not yet received)

The KWRL Superintendent met on Monday, June 15, and determined that given the actual and anticipated financial impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic our recommendation to the board is to proceed with the removal and replacement of the fuel tanks and accept the installer proposal for that work.  The decision on the Paradise Point expansion will be delayed until we have a clear picture of our financial capacity to complete that work.   Additionally, we will be considering options for the reengineering of the expansion to the KWRL Woodland facility to reduce the scope and potential costs of that work.

Administrative Recommendation /MOTION/ I move that we accept the bid from Puregreen Equipment Services for removal of existing underground fuel storage tanks and installation of new above-ground fuel storage tanks at the Woodland KWRL facility.
