Spring Conferences Success
This spring we utilized “Skyward Scheduling” again for our conferences. We had 100% of our students’ families invited and nearly 100% participated. This is the 4th time we have used online scheduling and our families are loving the control and utilizing it as the new norm. As a monitoring and adjusting from previous conferences, we held our conferences for 5th and 6th grade in the WMS Commons and 7th grade in the WMS Library. Nearly all teachers were available for families at the WMS conference times.
Also, after being carefully prepared by WMS Homeroom teachers, all WMS 8th grade students conferenced with their families specifically about their individual WHS schedule for 2016-17!
WMS Annual Talent Show
This year we had another amazing WMS Talent Show which included students from all four grades! We had fun celebrating the talents from students and staff this year! Students performed in the auditorium, showing their unique talent in everything from singing, playing musical instruments, and comedy. A good time was had by all at the 2016-17 WMS Talent Show, concluding with a fabulous send-off by Mr. Malinowski!
The Trojan Times Newspaper
We had our first publication of “The Trojan Times” student newspaper at the end of 3rd Quarter. Tyler Thralls and his class did a marvelous job on the newspaper! It's amazing... especially to think it was all done by 6th graders!! The newspaper went to other Woodland schools and throughout WMS. Thank you to WMS PTSA for their ongoing support of this fun and educational thing.
4th Quarter Is Here!
Today is the start of the last quarter of the 2016-17 school year. In many ways, this is the most challenging time of the school year as students, families, and staff are spending tremendous amounts of time, strength and energy on maximizing academic and behavioral growth. We are committed to keeping “short accounts” with all WMS families and we believe in teaming together to make sure every WMS Trojan knows they are Awesome, Loved, and Full of Potential.
