Re:      April 2012 Review

Here is an overview of the key activities we worked on in relation to teaching and learning this month and a bit of a preview for May.

Monday's:  Our Monday's work was split between department collaboration time and school improvement planning.  It has been several months since we were able to work in our school improvement teams and we found this time to be helpful again to analyze our school goals and action items.

School Bond: We are thrilled with the results and I wanted to commend the many staff members who worked hard to ensure its passage.

Other information: We did have an assembly in April to congratulate our state championship Floriculture Team.  It was a great assembly and quite an accomplishment for our students. I am almost 85% complete with senior interviews right now and the time has again been very beneficial to reflect with each individual student before they graduate which would not be possible without the tireless work of Cindy Hadaller who schedules all of the students into my calendar.  The other interesting news from the high school this year is that we did not have any math or science state testing this month or the prom.  Both of these events will fall in May which not usual, but may become the norm.  Therefore, we had a pretty fluid month with almost 4 straight weeks of normal schedules!
