RE: WPS MONTHLY UPDATE
April brought about the usual frenetic activity that typically takes place as spring unwinds, and it was no different this year:
An unanticipated challenge was the 11 new students who enrolled at WPS the week after Spring Break. This is much higher than usual, and with fairly full classes, presented some challenge to our teams.
Our PTSA has been re-born this year, with several parents of elementary age students taking an interest in using this vehicle in a manner to support our schools. After fund raising efforts in the fall, the group has spent time sponsoring activities such as special assemblies throughout the year. Most recently, PTSA distributed $1,500 to teachers to fund Teacher "Wish List" items. Thank you very much, PTSA!
WPS Students are putting "Acts" together to once again participate in an All-School Talent Show in May. Friday, May 25th at 2:00 is the big day for selected acts from each grade level!
Soon, our teams will begin looking towards next year by working on equitably placing students into classes for the fall term.
Congratulations to Mr. Bill Wymer on his announced retirement, and Congratulations to School Psychologist Jenn Barry on the birth of her son, Brantley!
