School Improvement Plan

• Instructional Design Days
  • We have been working on aligning our curriculum across the middle school. Both on February 13 and March 13 (state professional development days), we have had our teachers collaborate with each other on their curriculum. It has started with grade level teachers getting ‘horizontally aligned.’ This means teachers are working together so they are teaching the same material to their students. Some of our content grade level teams are moving to ‘vertical alignment.’ They are working together to ensure there is a seamless transition from one grade level to the next. 

Recognition 

Building a Sense of Community:

• Culture Kickoff Award - Since the last update, AWSL has awarded the middle school a Culture Kickoff Award for how we have started the year off. Vicky Barnes wrote about it on the school website on January 5th. https://woodlandschools.org/page/8798?cat=wsd 
• Band Teacher, Gordon Williford, was on the Culture Before Content Podcast!
