RE: Yale Elementary Board Report
1) School Improvement Plan
Yale students are progressing very well toward our School Improvement Plan goals. Students have already achieved their end of year goal in reading and have only 2% to go in math. Teachers are busy collecting data for their student growth goal conversations, which are tied directly to our School Improvement Plan goals.
2) Recognition
This month it is important to recognize the collaborative efforts of the entire Yale staff. Our teachers team together to determine the best instructional groupings and materials for each student. I was able to observe them working together during their lunch to ensure a new student was receiving the best possible intervention due to their low academics. They truly accept all students as their own. It's so refreshing and heartwarming to lead a school of teachers with exceptional hearts for the students they teach.
3) Upcoming Events
Our students have the opportunity to visit the Fort Vancouver Regional Library on a monthly basis because it is right next door to our school. Students participate in crafts, check out books, and attend special events. In June, they will have the opportunity to see a dog show at the library! In addition, our PTO does several fun events at the end of the school year, including a Fun Run and the very special “Play Day”.
