RE: Woodland Middle School Board Report
At Woodland Middle School, we are committed to increasing opportunities for family engagement and ensuring our incoming students feel excited and welcomed. We are thrilled to introduce several new initiatives aimed at connecting with families and easing the transition for our future students.
On Tuesday, June 4th, we will host "Trojan Trek: Navigating Woodland Middle School," an informational meeting specifically designed for 4th-grade families. This event marks a significant milestone, as there hasn't been a recent opportunity for such engagement (in recent memory). The following day, Wednesday, June 5th, our district 4th graders will tour the building, allowing them to familiarize themselves with their future school environment.
In addition, we are excited to announce a Trojan Family BINGO Night on Wednesday, June 12th, following our school's field day. This event aims to build community spirit and provide a fun, interactive way for families to engage with the school.
Looking ahead to the next school year, we are planning to host our traditional "Lunch and Lockers" event in August for 5th-8th grade. However, this year, we will offer a special chance for incoming 5th graders to learn the building, understand their schedules, and meet their teachers in a relaxed setting before the full school 6th-8th grade student population arrives later at that event.
These efforts reflect our dedication to fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for our students and their families. We are looking forward to a successful and engaging 2024-25 school year at Woodland Middle School.
