Spring has sprung at Woodland Middle School. We are looking forward to the arrival of warmer weather and some more sunshine on the horizon!
New Doorbell at WMS - We, along with all the district campuses, implemented the newly installed doorbell at WMS this week. The reception has been fantastic, and so far, families have been utilizing it and celebrating the implementation of this new security feature.
Spring Conferences - We had an excellent turnout for our Spring Conferences. It was great to see so many of our families come to the conference days to support the academic progress of their Trojans.
Trojan Family Night - Thank you to our community sponsors, staff, and to Tara Eilts (WMS Instructional Coach) for organizing this awesome community event. We had a school full of 5th - 8th grade families that participated in our classroom learning games across the building. We served over 550 meals at this event and gave away tons of great raffle prizes to our families that attended the event. After all the coordination, robocalls and social media posts, it was great to see the ideas come to fruition for this event that was rescheduled from a previous snow day!

8th Grade Trip - On June 1, we are celebrating our 8th graders with a fun end-of-the-year/end of middle school trip to Bullwinkles! It should be a lot of fun for our 8th graders! Thanks to our ASB and 8th Grade Teachers for working out the details to make this possible!
8th Grade Graduation/Moving-Up Ceremony - Aiming for Early June - We are looking at starting a new end-of-the-year tradition for our 8th graders at their last end-of-the-year awards assembly. Instead of the typical assembly that they have had all through Middle School, we are making this one where our staff are awarding/celebrating each individual student in a fun and memorable way. We look forward to celebrating them in a formal gathering in the auditorium during the school day and having a graduation ceremony for those students during the day. We are already looking into a way that we could live stream it through Zoom (or our Facebook page) for families to be able to celebrate their students successes as they graduate Middle School and head into High School.
ASB Elections - Emails have been sent out this week as we are starting to recruit candidates to lead our ASB for the upcoming school year. Elections are happening soon!
SBA Testing Begins Next Week - We are excited to see the academic progress of our Trojans! SBA Testing starts next week for certain classes and will continue on for the next few weeks.
