RE: North Fork Elementary School Update

• Our PBIS committee sent a group of 7 staff members to the annual PBIS conference. The conference was over two days in Tacoma. The team had valuable time discussing, brainstorming, and sharing our new learning. We returned and administered a self-survey assessment to all staff around our behavior support and prioritized areas for improvement. The team will summarize the data from the survey, share it with staff, and then share what we learned from the conference.
• Our after-school math intervention program, Math Champs, is in its second week. We have 56 students enrolled in the program and ten teachers. The program consists of a snack,10 minutes of computational fluency practice, and 40 minutes of remediation instruction. We could not do this extensive program without the support of our teachers and transportation department.   
• Our teachers enjoyed meeting with families during conferences the last week of March! We had 80% of our families participate either through attending in person,  Google Meets, or a phone conference.   
• Woodland Reads is off the ground, and students are halfway through the book, The One and Only Ivan. Daily questions are asked over the announcements concerning the chapters of the day. Winners are drawn daily, and grand prizes will be drawn at the culminating family event on May 3rd.  
• Our Kindergarten Kick-Off is scheduled for May 10th from 5 pm to 6:30 pm. Students can get a free book, ride a school bus, and meet all the kindergarten teachers during this time. We are excited to meet our new families.
