Director Graham called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m.

DISCUSSION ITEMS

Overview of DRAFT Preliminary School Reopening Plans

Superintendent Green explained the parameters set by the state: masks, social distancing, hygiene, health screening, and cleaning. He then provided a draft district plan that included schedules, health screening, meal services, teaching and learning, transportation, calendar modification, and other miscellaneous items. The administrative team has been working very hard to create the draft plan, but there are still many more pieces to the puzzle to solve. Lastly, Superintendent Green explained that there are still many unknowns, so this plan will very likely change by the end of August.

Board Development: Workshops and Retreat

Given a heavy work calendar in the coming month that includes review and approval of school reopening and the review and adoption of the budget for the coming year, the Board of Directors decided to hold a special work session on August 19th.  This work session is in addition to their regularly scheduled meetings on August 12th, and August 26th.

ACTION ITEMS

Approval of 2020-2021 Student Meal Prices

Federal law requires that school districts set student meal prices that are similar to the federal reimbursement rate for free and reduced lunches.  The superintendent recommended an increase of ten cents ($.10) per student lunch.  The new prices would be: Elementary Schools: $2.75, Middle School: $3.05, High School: $3.20

Approval of Student Food Service Management Contract Extension with Sodexo

The school district has a five-year contract with Sodexo to provide management of food services for Woodland Schools.   Each year the board is asked to approve an annual addendum that establishes a guarantee of the maximum net cost for the services provided.

Selection of New Woodland Public Schools Logo/Brand Refresh

ESD 112 Communication Services has been working with the district on a “refresh” of our website and our brand.  The board was presented with three different logo designs, as well as community feedback on the three designs.

Approval of ESD Cooperative Services Agreements

Woodland Public Schools has several cooperative services agreements with ESD 112 that allows the district to receive and provide services more cost-effectively than would be possible alone.  Eleven of these agreements were presented to the board for approval.
