School Board Policy 2410 requires that all seniors complete a culminating project. This project has elements that are developed throughout the four years of a student's high school career. The final element, a formal presentation is difficult, if not impossible for some students to complete given the change of our instructional model from in-person to remote learning. The Woodland High School Administration is requesting that, for the class of 2020, the final presentation portion of the culminating project be waived. All elements of the project which were due before March 13th must be completed for students to be eligible for graduation.
Administrative Recommendation /MOTION/ "I move we suspend the requirement in School Board Policy 2410 requiring completion of the final project portion of the culminating project, and other elements of the culminating project, as deemed appropriate, on a case-by-case basis, by the school principal, as a graduation requirement for the class of 2020."
