CALL TO ORDER

President Janice Watts called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.

WORKSHOP

Chuck Namitt, WSSDA consultant, presented an overview on school board and superintendent roles, relationships, and structure. Chuck talked about how to accomplish an action plan to create meaningful discussion that engages the board, superintendent and community.  It was discussed that linkage meeting maybe a helpful tool for the school board to utilize. These meeting would consist of a panel of students, staff, parents, and/or community members to better understand the challenges within the district. The school board members were asked to create a list of important topics for potential topics of discussions for the new monthly work sessions.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

President Watts recessed the regular meeting at 8:28 p.m. for an executive session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i). At 8:31 p.m. President Watts reconvened in open session.
