RE: CTE Report

Here are a few of the highlights in CTE at WMS and WHS over the past month:

In Wayne Miller’s class, welding and automotive students have started working on the rat rod project. The welding students are cutting and welding the frame and the automotive students are rebuilding the engine.

Nalean Warndahl has a representative from the Red Cross coming in to speak to her Medical Science students about the work Red Cross does locally and around the world. He will also be helping us set up our blood drive coming up on Friday the 27th of this month!

Rose Ruff’s Marketing class is working on a final project on Visual Merchandising and Display. For this project, students are creating their own retail store. They will be developing their store-front, store-layout, store-interior, and interior display. This is an opportunity for Marketing students to use the skills they have developed throughout the first semester and be creative at the same time.

Kim Miller’s Skills USA Students met over Christmas break to practice for Culinary, Restaurant Service, Early Childhood, Job Interview and Community Service competitions. Students are working on individual presentations and Mrs. Miller is also working to set up judges for the four contests she is hosting. Mrs. Miller met with two Skills USA students over Christmas to document all of the chapter activities to apply for the Chapter of  Excellence program again this year. As of right now the new date for the cooking demonstration at the Woodland Action Center is January 21st.
