RE: TEAM High School Update

Several students will be taking the Math End of Course Exam on January 29 and January 31. These students (especially the seniors) are required to pass this exam as one of the requirements to earn a diploma. Seniors can also take and pass the exam in the May/June but will not get the results back in time for the graduation ceremony, that is why passing this exam in January is very valuable for seniors.
I will be attending the Washington Association for Learning Alternatives Conference for Administrators on January 18 in Olympia. There they will discuss any new changes for alternative schools. This conference should be helpful to TEAM High School so we can incorporate any recent changes made by OSPI.
For the district, I will be attending three different sessions (each two days) of the new teacher evaluation program that is being instituted in at Woodland starting next school year. These sessions will be held in Seattle and should provide additional information and insights into the new system. I will publish all conference notes to our administrators so everyone will have the same degree of expertise. These sessions are in addition to our monthly meetings at the ESD and the two day conference in February at the ESD. The new teacher evaluation system will be labor intensive and a shift in how evaluations are conducted.
