Other Reports
Bill Woodard asked if it is only secondary teachers that can apply for National Board Certification.   Mr. Green responded that we, in fact, have at least three K-6 teachers who are either currently certified by the NBPTC or seeking certification.   Jim Bays asked if the National Board incentive is still in the state budget.  Mr. Green was unsure, as the budget has not been agreed upon.  Tina Cayton had a question regarding the TEAM High math test results. The majority of TEAM students had not passed Algebra I end-of-course exam.

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT

 

Michael Green gave a report on ballot returns. See attached. Michael will be watching the polls next Tuesday from the Fat Moose for results.  Tina Cayton remarked that there were mostly positive letters to the editors. Michael responded to a negative letter that was in the Reflector.

CORRESPONDENCE

 

Books from Port of Woodland
The Port of Woodland provided books on the history of Washington Ports to the Board and two for each of the school's libraries.

BOARD REPORTS AND REQUESTS

 

Tina Cayton reported on how the Easter egg hunt went. She said every kid got a balloon. Eleven people helped with the walk-and-knock on Saturday afternoon.

DISCUSSION ITEMS

 

Policy Updates: First Reading
The Board reviewed updates for Policy Nos. 1610, 2411, 3122, 3140, 5201,5404, 6890 and 6950 with Michael. Some corrections for typographical errors were offered.  All were moved forward for second reading at the next meeting.
