RE: WPS MONTHLY SCHOOL UPDATE
-Reading is Fundamental (RIF) was presented for the third and final time this year at
WPS. This event was spectacular in that all students were able to visit with "Mrs. Frizzel" and take a ride on her Magic Schoolbus (bus provided by KWRL and decorated by parent volunteers)! All students received a FREE book and seemed to enjoy this adventure very much! Thank you Mrs. Beth Kester for pulling this all together.
-WPS hosted its first Kindergarten Open House for families of students who will begin Kindergarten next year. Attendance was a little over 50 families. The event began with a brief tour of the school, then children were dropped off to play on the KG Playground while parents participated in a presentation on WPS Kindergarten and had question/answer opportunity. A positive event that we will look to build on in coming years!
Finally, all around Woodland Primary have begun preparations for MSP Testing. And even though only one grade level is tested at this school, schoolwide adjustments have to be made in order to provide best testing opportunity for our 3rd grade students.
Hats off to ALL staff who demonstrated flexibility in accommodating this portion of the school year!
