As February ended with a "roar," things at WPS have "purred" right along.......-GLAD Cohort I Training continued with our first group working through another LAB Day and Planning Day utilizing these strategies. The concept of this training is straightforward (its all about communication and number of opportunities for students to practice communication) - yet it requires much teacher thought, planning, preparation and practice to implement. The follow-up plan for our Cohorts is extensive, ongoing and shows our commitment to support teachers in fully utilizing these strategies!
-Just next week, we will have the fortune to send a Cohort II to receive initial GLAD Training in Vancouver! This is quite a feat considering we felt we had exhausted all options in trying to train most remaining classroom teachers. Hats off to Deb Kernen and Asha Riley who collaborated to find the opportunity and resources to make this available!
-Our teaching teams and students just completed the second of three Grade Level Math Assessments which are a product of our collaboration with the Evergreen School District. These have been scored and entered into our SIPS System - and the next two Monday Mornings will be dedicated to the analysis of these assessments individually, as well as across the grade level!
