Woodland Trust Fund Pathways Scholarship

Career Pathways Scholarship Fund

The Woodland Trust Fund Scholarship, currently known as the Woodland Public Schools Career Pathways Scholarship Fund is an annual scholarship program providing $2,500 scholarships to graduating seniors seeking further education after graduation, including universities, community colleges, vocational schools, and trade schools.

Don Fluke, a former Woodland Public Schools superintendent, established the Woodland High School Scholarship Trust Fund in 1986 to provide students not receiving substantial scholarships from other sources with an avenue to receive assistance to further their education.

The amount provided by scholarships has varied from year to year.   We currently have about $47,500 in the trust fund for scholarships.  $6,000 of that is committed and outstanding from the last two years. We have had a few modest donations this year ($3K, + employee payroll contributions).

Executive Director Brown is comfortable spending up $10K on scholarships this year.   There are seven applicants for the scholarship.
The board will discuss how to structure Trust-Fund scholarships this year.
