Director Huddleston, as the legislative representative, is requesting board consideration of Resolution 23-02. The purpose of the resolution will be to support the effort of multiple smaller school districts to eliminate the weighted vote provision in the ByLaws.
A weighted vote gives larger districts much more power than smaller districts when it comes to establishing WSSDA's legislative priorities.
If five members at General Assembly ask for a weighted vote on any item then Woodland would have two votes on that topic compared to Seattle's 19 votes.
