We are excited to announce the return of our garden at Yale School. Thanks to a partnership with Lower Columbia School Gardens, students will have the opportunity to participate in a hands-on cooperative learning environment where they can experience real-life applications of science and math. Our new Yale Garden Coordinator will be Hillary, an employee of Lower Columbia School Gardens. We are appreciative of her help and leadership for our garden. Students who participate in the Garden Club will be working with Hillary, and possibly other parent volunteers. All volunteers will have a background check completed.
The Garden Club will typically meet every other Friday, starting on March 11th . This will be during normal school hours, between 12:30 and 2:15 pm. Students will usually go for about 30 minutes and will not miss any class work. It will either be during library time or Friday time. The Garden Club will meet rain or shine.
I am delighted to have this opportunity for Yale students and look forward to enjoying the delicious fruits and vegetables they will grow this year.
