BOARD REPORTS

Special Services Report
Jim Bays asked if the summer programs that Deb Kernen mentioned in her report were new programs. Michael Green said that he knew that the Primary School Social Skills camp and the WMS Math Camp, were new. The credit recovery and WPS Math Camp had been done before. Jim asked if these programs were open to students other than Special Education students. Michael said they were open to all students who needed the support.

Student Representative Report
Tayler Summers reported said that the ASB held their elections, and that he will continue to be the Student Representative to the Board. The prom was held at the Red Lion at Jantzen Beach. Graduation went well. Tayler’s favorite parts of the ceremony were a “milk” speech and a dog who wandered through. It is early release the rest of the week for WHS. They are still working on final testing.  Jim Bays asked who the other ASB officers were. Tayler said that officers are Grant Booker -President; Michael Mentler- Vice-President; Karina Rayl-Secretary; Tristian Beaty-Treasurer; and Nicolette Nesbitt-Historian. Janice Watts wanted to know how many students ended up forgetting that it was not a late-start Monday.  Tayler said there were students who forgot, even though calls went out and notices were in newsletters.

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT

Mr. Green said that the school year is wrapping up nicely. Thursday is the last day. A fire alarm went off during first period today. It was a false alarm. There was a pre-bid meeting last week for the Yale Project. Nine people showed up; three were general contractors. Bids will be opened on Wednesday. The work out at the Dike Access Road site is moving at a good pace. Michael invited the Board to go out with him and take a look at the interesting work that they are doing. He showed the Board a video of the RAM machine. The Board discussed this process with him. Michael will let the Board know the bid results, Wednesday.   The Wetlands Geologist emailed the Army Corp of Engineers to find out if the report for the project had been approved.
