Proposal: Change the District Motto from "Where Community & Learning Connect" to"Educating for Excellence"
Rationale: this fall the board changed the mission statement of the district to: " It is the Mission of the Woodland Public School District to educate all students to excel in their chosen endeavors while becoming productive members of society. " In my mind a very positive change because it created a clarity and focus to the mission that is able to be remembered by all participants. The current motto of the district "Where Community & Learning Connect" is very nice but has only a tangential tie to the mission statement.
