SUBJECT: Facilities Department Progress and Project Update

Executive Summary

The Facilities Department is moving full steam ahead into summer projects.  Our temporary summer helpers will begin working on June 22.  We’ve got a few key projects and our usual deep clean and shine to do.  Summer help is essential in getting cleaning and landscape work done throughout the summer.

Key Project Updates

  1. Roof replacements at WMS Portables
    • Our roofing contractor has already delivered the materials and will likely finish our new portable roofs by June, 25.
  1. WMS Fire Alarm Replacement
    • Components and wiring for the new system have been delivered. Contractors are finishing up final design, and system installation will begin the week of June 22.
  1. Grounds Maintenance
    • Irrigation: A new problem with WHS irrigation has been identified, and repairs are ongoing.
    • Summer Management: Our fields are being kept up for summer sports leagues including fertilization and aeration.
    • Tree Trimming: In the early weeks of summer, rental equipment will be used to prune potentially hazardous tree limbs.
  1. Carpet at North Fork Elementary
    • Our crew is working to remove old carpet in several spaces at NFES to be ready for new installation.
  1. CES Freezer
    • We will be demolishing the walk-in freezer at CES the week of June 22nd and then erecting the new freezer the following week.
