Human Resources

This school year, we welcomed 26 new certificated hires and 12 new classified paraeducators. We met individually with each new employee to finalize their onboarding process.

For paraeducators, I worked with Mary Gleason and Jessica Cretsinger to cover retirement and benefits options. This personalized approach has been well-received and is crucial for helping new employees navigate these important and time-sensitive decisions. For our certificated staff, we held a similar meeting to review retirement and benefits, confirm all necessary forms are submitted, and ensure a smooth payroll process.

We also hosted a three-day New Educator Training (NET) for our certificated new hires. The first day was dedicated to providing an overview of the Woodland School District, including our vision, technology, facilities, safety procedures, and evaluation processes. We also welcomed new staff with generous donations from local businesses. Their contributions, including gift cards and raffle items, make a significant impact and help us create a warm and welcoming environment for our new teachers.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the following businesses for their unwavering support:

  • Bell Imaging
  • Burgerville USA
  • Dutch Bros
  • Fibre Federal Credit Union
  • IQ Credit Union
  • Lakeside Sweets
  • Lewis River Dental
  • Luckman Coffee Co. Inc
  • Red Canoe Credit Union
  • Red Leaf Organic Coffee
  • Starbucks
  • Umpqua Bank
  • Woodland Eye & Vision
  • Woodland True Value

The new staff then spent the next two days working in their respective buildings with their administrators to prepare for the start of the school year.
