WORKSHOP

Elementary School Attendance Boundary Adjustments

The community of Woodland is anticipating significant growth in housing in the coming years, with a possibility of as many as 891 new housing units within the city of Woodland, ALL within the North Fork Elementary School boundary.

North Fork is already the largest elementary school in the Woodland Public School District and is over its enrollment capacity.

The board will review:

  • Current School Enrollment and Capacity
  • Current School Boundaries
  • Current School Demographics
  • Potential and Anticipated Growth in Woodland
  • Boundary Adjustment Options to Consider
  • Policy Considerations

The board will review different adjustment options, brainstorm the strengths and weaknesses of each, and discuss the brainstormed data.

In addition, the board will discuss different policy considerations of boundary adjustments, including timing, phasing, in-district school choice, and out-of-district school choice.
