Due to levy cuts, there will be no 3rd teams this year. Traditionally, we have 3rd teams in basketball (boys and girls), football, and volleyball.

Last year, we had 284 WHS Students participate in our high school athletic program for one or more seasons. Registration for 2023-24 sports opened August 1st, and sign-ups are very good so far, but participation numbers will obviously be down with no 3rd teams being offered.

Our core values and program standards are truly what we stand for. We will continue to strive for our athletes, coaches, and programs to exemplify these qualities at practice, during competitions, around school, and in the community.

The week of July 31st, we had a head coach workshop to work on finding ways to improve our effectiveness of instilling our core values and program standards within our athletic program. Our head coaches understand the importance of a shared message, so expect to see consistency from one season to the next. They also coined the phrase “one more!” to be used throughout the year as an expectation for coaches and athletes to go above and beyond what is expected.
