RE:                 YALE SCHOOL MONTHLY UPDATE

Several events highlighted a busy month at the Yale School including:  well-attended Parent/Student/Teacher Conferences, the Great Pumpkin Search which involves parents and their children, and the Annual Yale Halloween Carnival.  All were a hit!

Grouping for instructional adjustments as a result of the first C.A.S.T. were made as were other instructional adjustments per individual need - something that is very possible given the small class sizes at Yale.  At the same time, grouping for instruction can be every bit as challenging as at bigger schools more variety is able to be offered.

We have terrific support staff doing great work day in and day out at the Yale School!

Becky Huesties, and Sharon Stuart provide invaluable classroom support, and Randi Isselhardt holds down the kitchen, office, maintenance and just about anything else anybody can think up - thanks, Randi!  Volunteers Brian Staines, Jamie Groce and others work diligently in small settings with students needing extra, focused support - these folks do a great job following teacher directives in engaging students!

Looking Forward

School Improvement Planning is focusing around the key term, "Respect."  All of our school staff is focused on the improvement of the reading block they have created.

Also, as a result of C.A.S.T. and other planning, we are pleased to be seeing more and more district personnel (counselor, speech, reading specialists, school nurse, etc..) providing a presence at the school.
