The Special Education staff met on Oct. 13th and reviewed 07-08 WASL/WAAS district special ed student data compared to the state special ed data. Based on our discussion and concerns of the group we have created a Reading/Writing Task Force and a Math Task force. They will research and analyze the data further, review current special education reading, writing and math curriculum and teacher training, testing options and accommodations, contact other districts that have special ed students scoring above the state percentage and conclude with recommendations to improve student learning. We plan to have the two reports in the spring which I will share with you at that time.
