Please review and approve the attached contract with Sodexo to manage the district's food service program. This is a renewal (year 5 of 5) of the contract which was rebid for 17-18. The contract includes an expected (guaranteed) loss of $170,769. If the program loses more than this, then Sodexo will reimburse the district for the difference up to $25,000. The pro forma contract is based on district labor and other miscellaneous costs of $664,900.
Our current Sodexo contract covers Sodexo staffing for full management of the program, with the exception of managing the district employees. Sodexo manages the day-to-day operations of the program, while the district provides management of the employees including any personnel issues and annual evaluations. Per RCW, food service management contracts are based on a per meal fee and also include a guarantee. The 21-22 price per meal is $2.26.
I recommend approval of the Sodexo contract for the 21-22 school year.
