ACTION ITEMS
Adjusting Elementary School Start Time for 2020-2021
After the reconfiguration of the elementary schools in the fall of 2019, a lot of feedback was received from families that the 7:45 a.m. start time was difficult for students and many requests were received to adjust to a later time. The huge challenge with the start times is bus transportation. Shannon Barnett, Director of Transportation, along with his team explored three options for this adjustment. After review and discussion Director Wray moved to adopt option “C” compresses the transportation schedule by 15 minutes per route on average and produces a little over 8 hours of labor savings per day but then requires limited labor from another district to mitigate, which results in about $35,000 in savings compared to the current model.
Resolution 20-06 – Reduction in Force
Director Guthrie moved to adopt resolution 20-06 as presented.
1:1 Chromebook Initiative at Woodland Middle School
Director Stuart moved to approve the 1:1 Chromebook initiative for Woodland Middle School and authorize the administration to proceed with the acquisition of sufficient Chromebooks to support the initiative.

Director Stuart made a motion to approve up to seventeen (17) scholarships at $2,000.00 each for the 2019-20 school year.
