DISCUSSION ITEMS |
Identify Budget Reductions should EP&O Levy Fail The voters will have the opportunity to renew the EP&O levy this month. If the proposition fails to gain passage, the school district will be required to make $3 million in reductions in order to operate within budget next year. The board of directors reviewed possible reeducations in school-based services, district-wide staffing and supports, athletics, and special services. The decisions the directors face are very difficult, any cuts will have a significate impact on student learning. After very careful consideration of each item, the directors identified $3.2 million in cuts to staffing and programs if the levy fails on the April 28th special election. These cuts will include as many as 47 faculty and staff positions. |
