President Watts called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.

Director Donald moved to approve the minutes from February 25, 2019, and March 11, 2019.

REPORTS TO THE BOARD

Student Representative, Hannah Landrigan, gave a quick report of events happening lately and highlighted the 8^th grade student’s visit to the high school in preparation for next year. The event was led by high school students and was a success.

BOARD REPORTS, REQUESTS, AND COMMENTS

Director Madsen talked about the $50K-for-20 Annual Fundraiser Dinner. The event raised $6-7K and the total raised for the year is around $21K. Steve and Jim Bays are still working on gathering more donations.

DISCUSSION ITEMS

First Reading Policy 5408 – Jury Duty and Subpoena Leaves

With no objections for the Directors this policy will be presented next month for second reading and approval.

Calendar Committee Representative

Director Stuart and Director Donald volunteered to participate on the 2020-21 calendar committee. The agreed that once a date and time for the initial meeting was set they would determine between themselves who would attend.

City Request for $5000 Contribution to Safe Walking Grant

The directors all agreed to honor the request from the City of Woodland. Director Donald did note that he would like to suggest the City look into improving the extension of fifth street, currently a gravel road beside the Primary School.  Mr. Donald shared that there seem to be many safety issues with this area.

Textbook Adoption – Ready Math

Asha Riley presented an informative Power Point presentation on the Ready Math curriculum. The directors ask some clarifying questions about equity, student accessibility, and parent accessibility.
