WORKSHOP

2017-2018 Board Work Session Calendar Development

In the spring of 2017, the board began a series of in depth study sessions.  At the beginning of this process, the board was presented with a DRAFT Calendar Proposal.   That Draft was intended as a framework and intended to be revisited and adjusted to the needs and interest of the Board.

The purpose of this work session is to identify the target areas that the board wishes to study over the course of the 2017-2018 school year.

Beginning with the end of achieving our vision:

Woodland Public Schools, in partnership with families and the community, will create a PreK-12 system that serves and supports ALL children-and ensures that EACH child has FULL access to, is engaged in, and obtains an excellent education that prepares them for responsible citizenship and a future of adaptability and success in life and their chosen endeavors.

What will be the targets that it is necessary for the board to understand in order to move the goals and priorities of the district forward?

Before the meeting, you may wish to think about and list some of the areas of focus you would like to consider.  We will spend some time brainstorming ideas and priorities.  One of the tools I have included that we may want to utilize is a forced-choice exercise that will help the board to prioritize efficiently.
