RE: Human Resources Report

Job postings have changed over the years, and part of my job is to bring consistency and accuracy to the jobs we post. I have begun creating templates in the program we use for postings that will also double as job descriptions to allow for more efficiency in the process.

I recently attended training on doing investigations for employee misconduct. Part of attending these trainings is networking with other Human Resource people and learning what they are doing in their district. One idea I liked was creating a notebook for administrators that will house processes, forms, and policies that relate to Human Resources. I have begun creating what I think will be a great communication tool.

There are point people to contact in the district if an employee, student or patron has a concern concerning a homeless child, HIB, sexual discrimination, civil rights or 504 plans. To clearly communicate who these contact people are I created and sent out to staff a contact sheet with names, a short description, and the policy numbers.

One of my favorite parts of my job is getting into the schools and seeing firsthand the great work being done. Recently I sat in on two interviews with internal candidates. The other people on the interview team were staff members, and I left truly impressed and grateful for the quality of staff we have, people who choose to make a difference every day in the life of a child.
