Re: April Review
Here is an overview of the key activities we worked on in relation to teaching and learning this month and a bit of a preview for May.
Monday’s: We only had three Monday’s in April for staff development time. We used one of our Monday’s (and the Friday May 1st) for Google training. These trainings were led by Jason Cowley and Shari Conditt and they did a masterful job of demonstrating the power of Google as well as other online resources. We had a final “Challenging Task” session with our staff on a Monday and the final staff development time was saved for department collaboration.
Other information: Our long term substitute in science, Mrs. Elizabeth Vallaire is having a positive impact with our students and she is blending in nicely with the rest of our teaching staff. I am impressed with her content knowledge and her ability to provide a seamless transition for our science students. I also would like to thank Kash VanCleef, Keith Clevenger and Heidi Rhodes who are filling in for Ms. Holmes while she is out on her maternity leave. I also wanted to give Mary Ellen a shout out for her wonderful plant sale which was held the first weekend in May.
May Preview: Be sure to mark your calendar for the Art fest (May 18-21), and the spring play “Dracula” (May 7-9) We also are in full swing with Smarter Balance testing now with our sophomores testing on May 12 and 13 and the juniors on May 20, 21,26 and 28.
