After a community meeting and board discussion the board asked that the administration present an option that allows our schools to remain in a tiered model similar to what we currently have.
There were a few different options that were considered:
K-2 Primary
3-5 Intermediate
6-8 Middle School
9-12 High School
K-1 Primary
2-3 Pri-mediate
4-5 Intermediate
2-4 Intermediate
5-8 Middle School
in looking at these options there was no way, short of splitting a grade level to have a school, that upon transition, was not at or near capacity.
After consideration Option 3 appears to be the best option as it maximizes the utilization of space, while minimizing the use of portables. In this option the "pressure point" is the Intermediate School campus It is likely that in years following opening we will need additional portable classroom space at Woodland Intermediate to accommodate growth.
