2015+ Maintenance and Operations Levy

2014 is the last year of our currently authorized Maintenence and Operations levy.   The purpose of this discussion is to identify the board's desires regarding Election date, levy length (2, 3 or 4 years) and amount.

The current levy is $3,250,000 (2013) and $3,400,000 (2014)

There are three potential dates for a levy election—February 11, April 22, and August 5.

 Historically Woodland Schools requests and receives levy funds at a far lower percentage than virtually all school districts in our area.  

• In 2012 the levy collection of 17.5% ($3,100,000) was approximately $1.4 million below the 28% authority of $4,516,325.  
• In 2013 the levy collection of 17.3% ($3,250,000) will be approximately $1.5 million below the 28% authority of $4,743,975.  
• In 2014 the levy collection of 17.6% ($3,400,000) will be approximately $1.4 million below the 28% authority of $4,776,033.

It is anticipated, given the increases in funding received this year from the state that the gap will be higher in 2015 if we maintain the current rate of increase.
