REPORTS TO THE BOARD

Student Representative Report
Katie Longrie reported that last Friday was the WIS Spirit Day and assembly. The theme was pajama day. There was 85% participation. They will have their 4^th Annual Book Exchange on March 12^th at 6pm. Students can bring new and used books to trade. Jim Bays asked if there had been any WHS ASB meetings lately. Katie said that they rarely have meetings. She said that the Be the Change Club meets on Wednesdays at lunch, but has had no all-school activities yet.

Other Reports
The Board discussed enrollment with Stacy Brown. She said that it is about 40 FTE over budget.

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT

Michael Green said the bulk of his work has been getting bond information together for distribution. He received news a couple of weeks ago that the House Democratic budget coming out will be favorable to education. Hopefully, when the budget is approved this will still be the case.

BOARD REPORTS AND REQUESTS

Jim Bays said that he had an idea that he mentioned to Michael about working with ESD on a template for a letter to the editor that basically makes the offer to meet with groups who have questions about the bond issue.  Jim thinks the Board should make itself available for this.

The group discussed bond work that the Citizens group has been working on.  They have a website at newwhs.com, and Facebook page. Their meetings are on Wednesdays from 6-7:30pm.

DISCUSSION ITEMS

Evaluation of Superintendent-Process and Timeline
Jim Bays said that the Board will not have the Superintendent's evaluation done by March 1^st. They will work on the form individually and meet for a special meeting on March 5^th to discuss each item on the form and create a composite to discuss with Michael at the next Board meeting. Jeremy Stuart will not be at the March 12^th meeting.

Update on Bond Information
Michael shared preliminary design and floor plan ideas from the architects. He said that these are just a concept, showing the scope of the project. Michael gave the Board dates of when he will be speaking in the community about the bond issues and invited them to attend. He will speak at the Chamber of Commerce meeting and a Port of Woodland workshop, also. He is working with ESD 112 on information for the website. They are working to add a calculator to the site so that citizens can easily calculate their property tax for the bond. He is collecting facts and documents to counter some misinformation that is in the community regarding the new high school.
