CALL TO ORDER
President Guthrie called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
OATH OF OFFICE
Superintendent Riley administered the oath of office to Tom Guthrie, Trish Huddleston, and Marie Wodaege.
ANNUAL BOARD REORGANIZATION
Director McLendon nominated Tom Guthrie as Board President. Director Stuart seconded.

Director McLendon nominated Sarah Stuart as Board Vice President. Director Guthrie seconded.
Director Stuart nominated Paul McLendon as Board WIAA Representative. Director Wodaege seconded.
Director Guthrie and Huddleston volunteered for the budget and finance committee.
Director Huddleston and Wodaege volunteered for the policy committee.
Director McLendon volunteered for the trust fund/career pathways committee.
Director Stuart volunteered for the district safety committee.
Director Stuart volunteered for the 2027-28 calendar committee.
Director Huddleston and Wodaege volunteered for the instructional material committee.
CITIZENS REQUEST TO
ADDRESS THE BOARD ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS
Dale Clukey spoke on behalf of PFLAG, an organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them, regarding the importance of protecting all students from bullying.
REPORTS, REQUESTS, AND COMMENTS BY THE BOARD MEMBERS
Director Huddleston will be attending the legislative conference on January 9-10 in Seattle, WA, with Superintendent Riley.
Director Stuart thanks the community for showing up to watch the Rollin’ Blazers.
REPORTS TO THE BOARD
Superintendent Riley provided an update on the January workshop, which was found to conflict with the legislative conference. After further discussion, the directors decided to switch the January workshop and regular business meeting.
DISCUSSION ITEMS
Review and Discussion of Board Policy 1620
As new board members join the Woodland School Board, it is essential to review Policy 1620/1620P to ensure a clear understanding of expectations. The board will continue to review this policy and may include it as a discussion item at the school board retreat in April.
CONSENT AGENDA
Director Gurthie made a motion to move the resignation and hiring of Nicole Guthrie from the consent agenda to a separate action item. Director Stuart seconded the motion.
Director McLendon moved to approve the consent agenda with the removal of Nicole Guthrie.
