President Guthrie called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

CITIZENS REQUEST TO 

ADDRESS THE BOARD ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS

Darcy Billingsley talked about the local levies failing to pass. She encouraged the board to maintain trust with taxpayers. She also suggested that the school board review the gender policy and take a stance to align it with the La Center School District's policy.

Dawn Courtney from the Watchdog of Cowlitz County publication shared an overview from the most recent edition and provided each board member with a copy.

REPORTS, REQUESTS, AND COMMENTS BY THE BOARD MEMBERS

Director Huddleston provided a legislative update and discussed the General Assembly, which will be held virtually on September 20, 2025. 

Director Guthrie participated in a recent Boy Scout meeting. He was excited to see the youth getting involved.

REPORTS TO THE BOARD

Director Huddleston asked some questions about the digital hall pass system at Woodland Middle School. Director Stuart commented that she enjoyed the bike unit at the elementary schools.

DISCUSSION ITEMS

Student Support Programs Presentation

Student Engagement Coordinator, Lindsay Noble, presented a PowerPoint presentation on attendance and the reengagement process. 

Family Community & Resource Center Coordinator, Joni Meize, presented an overview of the FCRC program.

The board members asked clarifying questions.

Woodland Trust Fund Pathways Scholarship

The board agreed to provide $2,500.00 per scholarship for the 2024-25 school year. 

Identify Directors to Present Diplomas at TEAM & WHS Graduation

Director Huddleston will present at TEAM, and Director Stuart will present at Woodland High School.
